CURRICULUM VITAE Rosalba Napoli received her degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Catania (Italy) in 1992. Her research activity has always been addressed to improve the investigative capability of the magnetic method, in different possible applications in volcanic areas. In particular, extensive and detailed ground and marine magnetic surveys were performed to detect and define the geometry and dynamics of the main geological structures characterizing Sicilian volcanic areas (the lower East side of Etna, Hyblean Plateau, Ustica Island). She deals with the magnetic monitoring of active Sicilian volcanoes (Etna and Stromboli) through the development and management of magnetic permanent monitoring networks. The research has also been devoted to the study of pre-eruptive and eruptive volcanic processes through the implementation of analytical techniques for detection and characterization of local variations in the short and medium term, in the time series of magnetic and electrical fields, and to the interpretation of magnetic anomalies by numerical modeling to define the spatial and temporal evolution of eruptive phenomena.
