CURRICULUM VITAE

Gilda M. Currenti received her PhD degree in Electronic Engineering at University of Catania (Italy) in 2004. Since her PhD course she has been working at Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia. Her research activity is aimed at the development and application of physical and mathematical formulations to quantitatively describe geophysical processes that govern the dynamics of volcanoes. In this regard, she has been involved in: (i) developing tools for analytical and numerical solutions for estimating ground deformation, gravity and magnetic fields, (ii) validating the models through the comparison with data acquired in volcanic region. Over the last years, she has been focused on 3D numerical approaches based on Finite Element and Finite Difference methods to develop more realistic models for interpreting geophysical signals recorded by ground-based and satellite data. She has been also participated as responsible or collaborator in several National and European projects on volcano geophysical modelling.
