Etna update, 8 October 2012

On the evening of 2 October 2012, mild Strombolian activity resumed within Etna's Bocca Nuova, and gradually increased during the following days. The activity culminated during the night of 6-7 October and then rapidly declined to cease a few hours later. The volcanic tremor amplitude, which had peaked shortly after midnight on 7 October dropped to the lowest levels seen in many weeks. Read more
